‘Undersong’ is the new album from Scottish folk trio Salt House. Produced by folk scene heavyweight Andy Bell (Martin Simpson, Songs of Separation, Furrow Collective), the album instills a special sense of place, recorded in a restored Telford Church on the island of Berneray, Outer Hebrides. While it may not be the last will and testament fans might have hoped for, Wild Beasts’s supposed swan song, Last Night All My Dreams Came True, stands as a fitting capstone to the band’s canon. Rather than write a new album’s worth of material, Wild Beasts recorded new studio performances of their best-loved songs, played with more muscle and immediacy than before.

As such, the album serves as a satisfying roundup of their greatest hits while also shifting the focus from the group’s lush arrangements and skilled studio craft to their chemistry as a live band. The art-funk song “Big Cat,” which first appeared on 2016’s Boy King, was originally coy and fleet-footed, buoyed by synths and a bit of Queen-style theatricality. Though the new arrangement here isn’t much different, it prowls and pounces, with more thunderous drums, more ominous harmony vocals, and a guitar solo that’s more disruptive to the song’s sleek, mannered exterior.

Shannon & the Clams, are known for a diverse sound that incorporates elements of: doo-wop, early rock & roll, classic R&B, garage psych, and surf rock as influences, now releasing their fifth album, Onion. The Oakland-based, indie garage punk quartet is working with producer Dan Auerbach and Easy Eye Sound on this project. Over the last decade, Shannon and her chief collaborator, guitarist Cody Blanchard, have released four albums of ’60s-inspired pop on indie labels, toured tirelessly and have gradually solidified a lineup of devoted Bay Area musicians, Nate Mahan on drums and Will Sprott on keyboards. I’m With Her, the band of Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan, have announced the release of their full-length debut, See You Around, out February 16, 2018.Co-produced by Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Laura Marling, Paul McCartney) and the band and recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Bath, England,See You Around is a 12 track LP filled with fine-spun narratives and breathtaking harmonies.

See You Around presents a warmly textured, yet stripped-down sound, layered with lush guitar tones and crystalline harmonies. I was asked to post some Pierre Labor for our friend Thierry,
unfortunately I do not own any of his albums, who knows what
the future will bring. Just a little bit up his alley, today we’ve got
another record by Les leopards de St. Pierre. They already found
quite some fans here at the Global Groove. Find their other elpees
using our search-bar at your left hand side. This one is from 1978
and rocks like any other album they made. Hot stuff from Martinique.
