Inspired by the rich storytelling culture of Appalachia, Undercurrents encapsulates themes of preservation, love and radical self-acceptance. Expansive and exposed like a rocky summit, Taylor offers a raw and refined vocal delivery that reminds of Rhiannon Giddens. She draws influence from the graceful and spirited songwriting of Sarah Jarosz- offering her own brand of holistic and divinely feminine americana.
Each song is accompanied by a work of art by Andrea Hasselbacher, sharing the remedy to the emotional undercurrent of the song through an illustrated herbal remedy or flower essence.
