This is the band’s 9th studio release and their first new music in 5 years.Produced and mixed by Cameron Webb, Is This Thing Cursed? is the first Alkaline Trio album written almost entirely in the studio. It’s when the songs began to come together that the band noticed the new material forming parallels with Maybe I’ll Catch Fire. According to the band, Is This Thing Cursed? is a cousin or sibling to Fire. Co-lead vocalist and bassist Dan Andriano explains, “the songwriting process is almost like what it was back in the day. We would just kind of write a song, be excited about it, then move on. We wrote in that spirit in the studio. I really feel like we made a record that the old school fans are going to dig.”

Joel Henry Little is a young singer-songwriter from New York City and his moving and incredibly beautiful album Spuyten Duyvil is a work of art. Another main ingredient is his love of Broadway musicals and these influences effortlessly blend together to form a glorious and timeless combination of classic 70s pop/folk songwriting, baroque pop and Broadway musicals. Spuyten Duyvil is an exceptional album that takes you on a imaginative musical journey that leaves a lasting impression.

Grain Thief is a 5-piece Americana Stringband from Boston MA. The group is made up of Patrick Mulroy (guitar, vocals), Zach Meyer (mandolin, vocals), Michael Harmon (bass, vocals), Tom Farrell (guitar), and Alex Barstow (fiddle). Their debut EP Animal was released in November 2015, which showcases the band’s roots in folk, bluegrass, and old time music. Since their first release, Grain Thief has performed throughout the northeast at various music venues and festivals, and currently holds a weekly residency at The Burren in Somerville MA.
The band’s first full-length album, Stardust Lodge, is due out August 2018. The band teamed up with Alan Day of the band Four Year Strong to produce the album at Wachusett Recording, located in Central Massachusetts. Mulroy’s lyrical approach to the album is met equally with songs of loss and regret, and the struggles of the everyday working man with a satirical twist. The inspiration behind Grain Thief’s first full length was to fully explore the boundaries of the Americana genre by utilizing the various instrumental talents within the band, incorporating instrumentation such as electric guitar and drums to their acoustic roots.
Dan Klingsberg (bass) Sam Talmadge (guitar) Elise Leavy (accordion) and Caroline Kuhn (tenor banjo) blend various musical backgrounds into a performance of old folk and new acoustic songwriting.
