Once a Catalan indie/alt-rock outfit that sang exclusively in English, Barcelona’s Love of Lesbian shifted gears and became an indie pop band that sang exclusively in Spanish. Their pedigree in their native country was strong, and by 2000, the group was opening for one of rock’s most trusted live acts, the Cure. Formed in 1997, the band — Santi Balmes, Oriol Bonet, Joan Planell, Jordi Roig, and Julián Saldarriaga — released their first album, Microscopic Movies, in 2000. After 2002’s Is It Fiction? and 2003’s Ungravity, the group made the shift in language for their hit fourth album, Maniobras de Escapismo. Love of Lesbian had their breakthrough in 2009 with 1999, which reached number 33 on the albums chart in Spain. The live LP Maniobras en Japon followed a year later. A concept double album about living the nightlife and its ensuing repercussions, La Noche Eterna. Los Días No Vividos arrived in 2012 and went all the way to number one. Their Nouvelle Cuisine Canibal EP failed to chart in 2014, but two years later El Poeta Halley returned them to the number one spot in Spain.

Following on from 2015’s highly acclaimed 7 track EP "This Family Tree", Luke Jackson returns with his trio for his third full studio album that promises to build-on his enviable reputation as a master storyteller in the vein of Richard Thompson, with a voice which, according to Mark Radcliffe on BBC Radio 2, is reminiscent of Jeff Buckley.
This album demonstrates Luke’s assured and mature writing, tackling issues across the emotional and social spectrum, from the gentle and fragile to the brave and challenging. His distinctive voice goes from strength to strength, with increasing range and emotional depth.
There’s a more contemporary feel to the songs, but they are firmly rooted in Luke’s distinctive rootsy blues-infused sound, but it has a fuller feel than the previous releases. Luke doesn’t shy away from tackling difficult subjects such as Alzheimer’s in "The Man That Never Was", suicide in "That’s All Folks" and mental health in "Aunt Sally" but this is beautifully balanced by uplifting delicate love songs like "Kansas" and "Better Man" and ends on a high note with the anthemic "On The Road"
This is definitely Luke’s most complete collection of songs to date and will continue to consolidate and extend his reputation as one of our most influential and captivating young songwriters.

… is undeniably "The World’s Premier Zydeco Showman." Born on July 1, 1967 in Churchpoint, Louisiana, Chubby is the third generation of zydeco artists with such famous relatives as Roy Carrier (father), Warren Carrier (grandfather), and cousins Bebe and Calvin Carrier who are presently considered legends in zydeco history.
Chubby began his musical career at the age of 12 by playing drums with his father’s band. He began playing the accordion at the age of 15. By age 17, Chubby had begun to play with Terrance Siemien and toured the world for 2 1/2 years, before forming his own band in 1989.
Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band have recorded ten CDs over the past 22 years of Chubby’s professional career. His band has traveled all over the world, performing to audiences in all parts of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada. North Africa and Europe. Chubby and the band travel 150-175 days a year, taking his act to big festivals such as the New Orleans Jazz Fest, the Chicago Blues Fest. Summerfest (Milwaukee), Memphis in May, and several festivals in Europe. Chubby has also done guest appearances on recordings for Tab Benoit, 6Was9, and Jimmy Thackery. Ann Wilson of the group Heart encourages Chubby to "continue the great sound that you have. This sound will take you places."

The solo recordings of Charlie Musselwhite – In every respect, this is a sensational release. Never before we had the chance to experience Charlie in such an intimate environment. These all-acoustic solo recordings are showing the other side of Charlie Musselwhite who was born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis. As a boy he found out that some of the great pre-war blues players were still alive, living not far away from Memphis. Amongst others he met Will Shade, leader of the legendary Memphis Jug Band. Will Shade became his first harmonica and guitar teacher.
Until now, this CD was only available at Charlie’s shows, it never got into the regular chains of distribution. For a limited amount of time, CrossCut will offer ‘My Darkest Hour’ to our private customers. Fifteen original compositions written by Charlie, in the tradition of Furry Lewis, Memphis Wlllie B. and Will Shade. ‘I have a real attachment to the old style of acoustic country blues, and am a direct link to that time.’ Very moving album, emotional and touching.
