Mike and the Mechanics will release their first album since 2011’s The Road this spring. Let Me Fly, due April 7, is the eighth studio effort from Genesis co-founder Mike Rutherford’s other hit-making band.
Let Me Fly is the second record to feature the current Mike and the Mechanics lineup, which coalesced around singers Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar in 2010. Keyboardist Luke Juby, drummer Gary Wallis and guitarist Anthony Drennan round out the band. Vocalist Paul Young (who sang the hit singles “All I Need Is a Miracle” and “Taken In”) died in 2000; Paul Carrack (“Silent Running,” “The Living Years”) left in 2004, around the time the band took a break.

Το “XX Century and Peace” ήταν σοβιετικό περιοδικό, που κυκλοφορούσε στα σέβεντις και στα έιτις (βασικά). Τυπωνόταν σε πέντε γλώσσες (ρώσικα, αγγλικά, γαλλικά, γερμανικά και ισπανικά) κι έγραφε και για πολιτιστικά θέματα (και για μουσική εννοείται). Είχα βρει, παλιά, τεύχη στο Μοναστηράκι...

Μπορεί να μη μ’ αρέσει το στυλ της... κακιασμένης δημοδιδασκάλισσας Ζωής Κωνσταντοπούλου (αν και ποιος τη γ@μεί τώρα την αισθητική), αλλά πολύ καλά έκανε που τα ’χωσε στην απαράδεκτη ρουμάνα επίτροπο Κορίνα Κρέτσου. Δυστυχώς, εξέθρεψε και τέτοια «ζώα» ο «υπαρκτός»…

Επεκτείνοντας λοιπόν το πιο προηγούμενο ποστ σχετικά με το ΚΚΕ (και την έμμεση, για να μην πω για άμεση, στήριξή του στο ευρώ) λέω πως η σημερινή Βουλή ΔΕΝ ανταποκρίνεται σε μια βασική έκφραση της κοινωνίας. Στο ότι το 30% του κόσμου, βάσει και των πιο… μετριοπαθών δημοσκοπήσεων, είναι κατά τού ευρώ, θεωρώντας πως ήταν «λάθος» και η είσοδός μας σε αυτό, το 2001.
ΟΛΑ τα κόμματα (και τα οκτώ) που συμμετέχουν στη σημερινή Βουλή (από το ΚΚΕ μέχρι τη Χρυσή Αυγή) στηρίζουν, το καθένα από τη μεριά του και με τη δική του «ανάλυση», το λεγόμενο «κοινό νόμισμα».

Μπορεί να μη μ’ αρέσει το στυλ της... κακιασμένης δημοδιδασκάλισσας Ζωής Κωνσταντοπούλου (αν και ποιος τη γ@μεί τώρα την αισθητική), αλλά πολύ καλά έκανε που τα ’χωσε στην απαράδεκτη ρουμάνα επίτροπο Κορίνα Κρέτσου. Δυστυχώς, εξέθρεψε και τέτοια «ζώα» ο «υπαρκτός»…

ΓΙΑ ΤΟ «μετά το ’74 ΚΚΕ»
Μ’ ενδιαφέρουν –πάντα μ’ ενδιέφεραν– οι γεωπολιτικές αναλύσεις τού «μετά το ’74 ΚΚΕ», όπως και οι προσεγγίσεις του σε κάποια κοινωνικά θέματα (όχι σε όλα). Δεν μ’ ενδιαφέρει, όμως, καθόλου το πώς αναλύει την «κρίση» από το 2010 και μετά, επειδή φρονώ πως, κατά βάθος, παρακοιτάει την τσέπη του.
Μπορεί να είναι βαριά η κουβέντα, για το ιστορικό κόμμα, αλλά έτσι το βλέπω κι έτσι το λέω.

Οι εισακτέοι φυσικά και πρέπει να μειωθούν – ας αφήσει τους λαϊκισμούς η Δεξιά. Εξάλλου, δεν είναι δυνατόν να πληρώνουμε τις σπουδές των φοιτητών μας και μετά εκείνοι, ως επαγγελματίες, να στελεχώνουν, κατά χιλιάδες, νοσοκομεία, βιομηχανίες και εταιρείες της Αγγλίας και της Γερμανίας…

Η γελοιότητα με τις πανελλήνιες εξετάσεις είναι το να σε κρίνουν όχι εκείνοι που σε προσλαμβάνουν (Πανεπιστήμιο), αλλά εκείνοι που σε απολύουν (Λύκειο).
Το πρόβλημα είναι πολύ σοβαρό και βασικά σχετίζεται με την αναστάτωση που θα προκληθεί στο χώρο της παραπαιδείας…

Του ενός καίγονται η γυναίκα του και το παιδί του στο δρόμο και βγαίνει στα μεσημεριανάδικα για να συγχωρήσει τον εξ αμελείας (ας το πούμε έτσι) φονιά τους. Του αλλουνού τού κοπανάνε το παιδί οι χρυσαυγίτες κι εκείνος γράφει… viral φιλοσοφικά ποιήματα.
Εμένα, άμα κρεμαστεί η πεθερά μου (που δεν έχω), με βλέπω να εγκαταλείπω τα εγκόσμια και να την κάνω για τη μονή Κουτλουμουσίου... πετώντας προκηρύξεις.

Μεγάλε επέστρεψέ μας τα φράγκα (μαζί με τους τόκους) που δώσαμε από την τσέπη μας και που παίχτηκαν-φαγώθηκαν στο χρηματιστήριο επί Κινέζου, μαζί μ’ εκείνα που κουρεύτηκαν με το PSI επί Παπαδήμου κι έχουμε χεσμένα τα «φιλοδωρήματά» σας.

Παλιά, στα ιδιωτικά σχολεία πήγαιναν κυρίως οι κουμπούρες (των οποίων οι γονείς είχαν τη δυνατότητα να εξοικονομήσουν μερικά φράγκα), επειδή μπορούσαν έτσι να πάρουν ένα απολυτήριο Δημοτικού (ή Γυμνασίου) έστω και με «6» (η αυστηρότητα ήταν γενικευμένη κατάσταση).
Σήμερα τα πράγματα είναι πολύ διαφορετικά. «6» δε βλέπεις πλέον όχι μόνο στα ιδιωτικά (τα οποία θεωρούνται «καλά σχολεία» και μαζεύουν όχι κουμπούρες, αλλά τους καλούς υποτίθεται), αλλά ούτε και στα δημόσια (καθώς έχουμε τα Α, Β και λοιπά, που θα καταργηθούν κι αυτά), ενώ θα έπρεπε, παντού, το «6» να είναι ο… βασικός βαθμός.

Η εκλεκτή καλλιτέχνις από της 10ης τρέχοντος τίθεται εις την διάθεσιν του ΓΕΝΙΚΟΥ ΕΠΙΤΕΛΕΙΟΥ ΣΤΡΑΤΟΥ το οποίον και θα κανονίσει τα της μεταβάσεώς της εις την Βόρειον Ελλάδαν προς ψυχαγωγίαν των ΕΝΟΠΛΩΝ ΔΥΝΑΜΕΩΝ. Πήγαινα σε μια δουλειά το πρωί κι έξω από μια εκκλησία είδα αρκετούς μαθητές. Δε βιαζόμουν κι έτσι μπήκα μέσα για να δω τι συμβαίνει – από περιέργεια να πούμε. Έπαιζαν… «Χαιρετισμοί». Μέσα στην εκκλησία γινόταν της πουτάνας. Χάβρα Ιουδαίων. Κάθισα 5 λεπτά και δε βρέθηκε ένας παπάς, ένας ψάλτης, ένας επίτροπος, ένας καντηλανάφτης, κάποιος τέλος πάντων, να τους πει από μικροφώνου ένα «σκάστε ρε, αλλιώς σηκωθείτε φύγετε». Δε μιλάμε για τους καθηγητές… Αυτοί, απλώς, καμάρωναν.
Μάγκες μου μαζί με τη «διαγωγή» καταργείστε και το σχολικό εκκλησιασμό. Αν πριν δεν είχε ΚΑΝΕΝΑ νόημα, τώρα δεν έχει ΑΠΟΛΥΤΩΣ ΚΑΝΕΝΑ νόημα.
