Οι σχέσεις του ροκ και του ελληνικού ροκ με το στρατό στην Ελλάδα λίγο πριν και αμέσως μετά το πραξικόπημα της 21ης Απριλίου 1967
Το ροκ, και το ελληνικό ροκ, στην Ελλάδα των late sixties αποτελούσε, συχνά, ηθελημένα ή άθελά του, μοχλό της αντίδρασης. Οι συνταγματάρχες, εννοώ, και όχι μόνον αυτοί το χρησιμοποιούσαν ως ένα, κατ’ αρχάς, δυτικό προϊόν, ικανό να στρέψει τις (αισθητικές) αναζητήσεις τής νεολαίας σε ακίνδυνα και εντελώς ελεγχόμενα (από ’κείνους) περιβάλλοντα.

Το να άκουγες ή να έπαιζες ροκ στην Ελλάδα των late sixties ισοδυναμούσε πολλάκις με την εικόνα του καλού και ευγενικού παιδιού. Εκείνου που, τέλος πάντων, δεν ασχολιόταν με την πολιτική (κάτι, που, με άλλα λόγια, σήμαινε μια σιωπηρή, έστω, αποκήρυξη του κομμουνισμού), που δεν αλήτευε, που δεν έπαιρνε ναρκωτικά, εκείνου, εν πάση περιπτώσει, που έκανε το κέφι του ψυχαγωγώντας τον κόσμο (από απλούς νεολαίους και δημοσίους υπαλλήλους, μέχρι την «υψηλή κοινωνία»), δίνοντας το παρόν ακόμη και σε στρατιωτικές γιορτές!
Εν ολίγοις, το ροκ είχε απόλυτη πρόσβαση στον κρατικό/χουντικό μηχανισμό, με τα συγκροτήματα και τους καλλιτέχνες να εκμεταλλεύονται και την παραμικρή ευκαιρία για λίγη παραπάνω δημοσιότητα.
Ορισμένοι έχουν την εντύπωση πως μετά τη συναυλία των Rolling Stones στη Λεωφόρο Αλεξάνδρας, την 17/4/1967 (τέσσερις μέρες πριν το πραξικόπημα δηλαδή), το ροκ κυνηγήθηκε από το επερχόμενο χουντικό καθεστώς, πως αποκλείστηκε, τέλος πάντων, από τα μέσα και τον Τύπο. Αυτό είναι παντελώς αναληθές, καθώς, και κατ’ αρχάς, σ’ αυτή την περίπτωση δεν θα τυπώνονταν, στην Ελλάδα, ροκ δίσκοι και δισκάκια. Φυσικά, και όπως όλοι γνωρίζουμε, το εντελώς αντίθετο συνέβη. Η σχετική βιομηχανία άνθησε!

Ana Tijoux – Vengo (2014)
Ana Tijoux, nombre artístico de Ana María Merino Tijoux, empezó a ser conocida en América Latina cuando participaba en la banda de hip-hop Makiza, hacia fines de los noventa. Su origen chileno-francés se debe a que sus padres (es hija de la renombrada Doctora en Sociología María Emilia Tijoux) fueron exiliados tras el golpe militar del 11 de septiembre de 1973, que derrocó al gobierno del Presidente Salvador Allende. Tras el ascenso al poder de Augusto Pinochet, miles de chilenas y chilenos fueron desaparecidos o exiliados por oponerse al régimen.
Tijoux pudo instalarse definitivamente en su país en 1993, fecha en la que la cantante comenzó a moverse en el mundo del rap local, para luego formar su primera banda Los Gemelos, junto al rapero Zaturno. Pero fue en 1997 cuando hizo su primera grabación profesional en estudio al participar en el trabajo musical La medicina del grupo Los Tetas, uno de los pioneros del funk y del soul en la música chilena.
A la vez que participaba con Los Tetas, Ana Tijoux se sumó a la banda de rap chilena Makiza. Su primera producción con el grupo fue Vida salvaje y la segunda Aerolíneas Makiza. Fue en 2006 cuando la cantante decidió lanzarse como solista. Su primer álbum en esa modalidad fue Kaos (2007), cuyo primer sencillo es "Despabílate!". En el disco destaca también la canción "Gol", que grabó con la cantante de origen mexicano Julieta Venegas (con la que también colabora en el tema "Eres para mí", de Limón y Sal). Asimismo, Ana Tijoux hizo un rap junto al cantante uruguayo Jorge Drexler. Ambos sorprendieron cuando se llevaron el Grammy Latino a la Mejor Grabación del Año por la canción "Universos Paralelos", en la decimoquinta edición de los Grammy Latino de 2014.
Mezclando ritmos y culturas, Tijoux nos lanza una bomba sonora de 17 temas, que pasa desde el tinku (Bolivia) hasta el hip hop más ácido y contestatario, incluyendo matices instrumentales con manifiestos emocionales, políticos, llenos de carencias sociales y culturales conocidas por todas y todos. Prueba de ello es "Somos Sur" (donde comparte líricas con Shadia Mansour, rapera de origen palestino); "Antipatriarca", dedicada expresamente a la liberación femenina y reivindicación de la mujer en nuestra sociedad, y "Somos todos erroristas" la que, siguiendo en la línea de las colaboraciones, posee el aporte de Hordatoj.
"Los Peces Gordos no pueden volar" es una canción dirigida a su hijo donde, por medio de su lírica, le muestra las verdades de nuestro sistema, la injusticia y como él (nosotros/as) podemos hacer de nuestro entorno un espacio mejor y más amigable. "Río Abajo" vuelve a ser un tema que exacerba ritmos autóctonos con una letra reivindicadora.
En "Oro Negro", sacando a relucir la versatilidad de su voz sin perder la rítmica del hip hop como base, Tijoux esboza nuevas críticas, esta vez contra la guerra y la ambición que hay tras ella. Un canto a la paz en su estilo, con una armonía agradable que logra su objetivo: llamar a la reflexión y dar a entender que las luchas bélicas por el poder y el enriquecimiento sólo hacen del pueblo alimento para la muerte. Otro punto álgido dentro del presente trabajo.
Fuera de ciertas comparaciones que puedan darse con otras bandas e intérpretes latinoamericanos, Tijoux ha facturado un álbum de combate que también destaca en lo musical, con un hip hop instrumental que repasa un variopinto de ritmos andinos y autóctonos que logran dar un baño nuevo al ambiente musical iberoamericano. Todo un acierto.

Angaleena Presley – Wrangled (2017)

Wrangled is the second studio album from the Pistol Annies member. Presley has struck a distribution deal with Nashville-based independent marketing and distribution company Thirty Tigers in collaboration with Mining Light Music.
Presley co-wrote all of the album’s 12 tracks, including one titled “Cheer Up Little Darling” that features the influence of the late Guy Clark, who passed away in 2016. The song, co-written by Clark, features his mandola and No. 10 guitar. The collaboration is the last song he completed before he passed away.
