Polish experimental ethno-folk collective Atman was formed in 1981 by multi-instrumentalists Marek Styczynski, Marek Leszczynski and Piotr Koelcki, who remained the core of the group throughout its lengthy existence; other regular collaborators included vocalist Anna Nacher and Tomek Gulinski, as well as bassist Thomasz Radziuk. Forging an aesthetic they dubbed "forest music" — a sound created with acoustic instruments and Tibetan instruments — the members of Atman divided their time between performing and offering workshops in instrument building and forestry, finally releasing the cassette …jak rozrzucone po ziemi kamienie… on their own FLY (Freak Living Yourself) label in 1991. Cassettes including Soundreams and Gadajaca Laka followed before Atman made its American debut with the Drunken Fish EP Save the Earth; other efforts for the label include 1997’s Personal Forest and 1999’s Tradition.

The first album from this Long Island-based ensemble was a tuneful and ambitious collection of psychedelic folk-rock tricked out with polished harmonies and arrangements featuring elaborate horn and string charts. If anything, Tuesday, April 19 often sounds a bit too elaborate for its own good; the arrangements certainly reflect the trippy, philosophic bent of Gene Stashuk’s lyrics (which also suggest a Christian undertow), but fairly often they also tend to overpower them, and on these sessions the Unspoken Word sound more like a studio project than an organic group with a personality of its own.
The irony is this has a great deal to do with the precision with which the Unspoken Word play their music; Angus MacMaster’s keyboard work is especially impressive, with a striking dynamic sense, and vocalist Dede Puma would have done any number of Broadway musicals proud with her rich, expertly modulated instrument.
On tunes like "After the Before," the Unspoken Word sound a bit like the Free Design after an acid trip and a couple semesters of philosophy class, and while that might sound like damning the Unspoken Word with faint praise, the truth is few bands embraced the psychedelic philosophy while maintaining a composer’s fine control over their music the way the Unspoken Word did on Tuesday, April 19. If the two sides don’t always mesh perfectly, fans of oddities of the psychedelic era will doubtless find this to be intriguing stuff.

On its face, Simple Dreams seems a crazy quilt of styles, from the friendly country-rock remake of Buddy Holly’s "It’s So Easy," the brooding covers of Roy Orbison’s "Blue Bayou," and Dolly Parton’s "I Never Will Marry" to dissolute tales of rock & roll madness like the Rolling Stones’ "Tumbling Dice" and Warren Zevon’s "Carmelita" and "Poor Poor Pitiful Me." Yet Ronstadt is able to keep it all together, proving her interpretive depth and stylistic breadth all at once. Simple Dreams is perhaps Ronstadt’s most adventurous rock-oriented album, and, with the exception of the drum sounds, which indelibly identify this as a product of the ’70s, it still works.
The consistently adventurous material and Ronstadt’s powerful performance makes the record rival Heart Like a Wheel in sheer overall quality.

Recorded by monitor engineer Colin Cargile during the band’s 2016 Rest In Chaos tour, the album was produced by Dave Schools and mixed by the legendary John Keane, who also mixed the band’s first record. We’re All In This Together features 13 tracks, with most selected from an unforgettable show at Iron City in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dubbed a “jam band super hero group” by some journalists, because of it’s high-profile lineup, the rock sextet features bassist Dave Schools and drummer Duane Trucks of Widespread Panic, guitarist Neal Casal of Chris Robinson Brotherhood, keyboardist Chad Staehly of Great American Taxi, Tulsa guitarist Jesse Aycock, and celebrated singer-songwriter Todd Snider on lead vocals.
“For the kind of band we are, I think this is a definite statement for us,” Snider says of We’re All In This Together. “It captures a collective spirit, a collective muse being shared by a thousand-plus people.” Duane Trucks adds, “We have the power of the songs in a live setting and have a good picture of the exploratory nature of the band. That’s what you hope for.”

Chuck Berry created a body of work that stands today as not only the first but arguably the best in rock’n’roll. He was something of a child prodigy and gave his first public performance while still at school. His classic 1950s and 1960s material will probably last as long as music is played. Remember him for those classic songs, they are the work of a master. Featured here are some of his greatest hits such as “School Day”, “Sweet Little Sixteen”, “Johnny B. Goode” and many more..

Recorded live at the original Grand Ole Opry building (the Ryman Auditorium) from April 30, 1991 to May 2, 1991. The generous set reaches all the way back to the 19th century for Stephen Foster’s “Hard Times,” also touching on cowboy songs “Cattle Call,” “Montana Cowgirl”, honky tonk “Half As Much”, gospel “Get Up, John”, bluegrass “Walls of Time”, and modern traditionalism “Guitar Town”. Harris also manages to nod toward rock (Bruce Springsteen’s “Mansion on the Hill,” John Fogerty’s “Lodi”) without breaking stride. Throughout, her band provide seamless, effortlessly virtuosic support. At the Ryman is a great album from one of modern country’s greatest artists.

CD pressing of the third single from the album infinite. ‘Johnny’s Band’ follows the singles “Time For Bedlam” and “All I Got Is You”. The song is an affectionate portrait of a fictional band that quickly gain success and enjoy every side that comes with it. As often happens, Johnny’s Band can´t help but lose it, and break up, only to find out later that the pleasure still to be performing live is all that matters, even when the hype, the success and the glory have long vanished. As special bonus treats, the single includes four previously unreleased songs.
