Belly will release DOVE, their first full-length in 23 years, on May 4th via their own Belly Touring. Produced by the Rhode Island band’s guitarist Tom Gorman and Paul Q. Kolderie (Hole, Radiohead), the 11-track album is just their third following 1995’s King and 1993’s Grammy-nominated Star. It’s also their most collaborative record ever, with songs being built over email as each band member added their own parts.

The debut album from Morgan Wallen , If I Know Me , arrives today, just as his collaboration with Florida Georgia Line is dangerously close to becoming his first top-ten hit.
The East Tennessee native readily admits “Up Down” is more than just a song — it’s an endorsement from FGL.
“They actually mentioned that,” Morgan tells ABC Radio. “How Luke Bryan did the same thing for them on ‘This Is How We Roll.’ Like, ‘We kinda just want to pay it forward, man, so here it is.'”
Next month, Morgan joins Luke’s What Makes You Country stadium tour.

San Francisco’s transcontinental Americana outfit Goodnight, Texas’ highly anticipated third full-length album, Conductor.
Avi Vinocur and Patrick Dyer Wolf “have struck gold once again with their partnership,” writes Matt Matasci at MXDWN. They continue to weave a serpentine historical thread over memorable lines on mandolin, banjo and guitar. More amplified and explosive than the band’s previous work, Conductor rides a powerful foundation from bassist Scott Griffin Padden and drummers Alex Nash and Kyle Caprista. This album is about turning points — personal, political, musical, global — and their possibilities.
American Songwriter premiered the album’s lead single and video, “Keep Movin’,” last month: “[Keep Movin’s] eerie, atmospheric clip mirrors the hypnotic, almost droning folk rock of the track, which was inspired by both personal and political difficulties.” The second single, “Takin’ Your Word For It” is a more upbeat and carefree tune, to be featured on The Bluegrass Situation next week.
For the members of Goodnight, Texas, the years since their last LP Uncle John Farquhar(2014) brought the deaths of three beloved family members, the birth of a child, and plenty of reflection on a turbulent time in American and human history. Over several months, they self-produced the tracks they recorded in the Sierra foothills, in an art store in Atascadero, CA, and in apartment bedrooms in San Francisco and New Jersey. The band tapped longtime collaborator Scott McDowell (The California Honeydrops, Feist, The Head and The Heart) to mix the project. The result is an ambitious, dynamic record steeped in grief, confusion, joy, and the amorphous, ever-increasing weight of the world.
